PLAIN DOSAY/ DOSA

Plain dosay/dosay is the very basic kind/method of dosay/dosa…. among all other varieties of dosay/dosay. Being the staple food of Southern part of India , dosay/dosay is a healthy and filling dish which contains proteins & carbohydrates, which is very essential/necessary for every individual in the morning. It is a very easy recipe.

       Ingredients :

  • Raw rice – sona masoori – 4 cups
  • Black Gram (Urad dal, deskinned) – 1 cup
  • Beaten rice ( poha) – 1 cup
  • Fenugreek seeds – 1 tsp (I use 1/2 tbsp)
  • Salt as required
  • Oil for roasting dosay/dosa

       

      PROCEDURE :

  • Soak rice, dal and fenugreek seeds for 6 – 8 hours
  • Soak beaten rice for 15 minutes just before grinding
  • Grind everything together including salt
  • Keep it over night for fermenting
  • Next morning Heat tawa and pour the batter  and make dosay/dosa
  • Sprinkle 1/2 tsp oil
  • Flip & roast on the other side as well
