SEMOLINA/RAVA/RAVE-PULSES-LENTILS ADAI DOSAY/DOSA

One of the south Indian style, easy and quick to make, a kind of instant dosay/dosa recipe. Traditionally this preparation calls for more amount of rice, but however Here… I have replaced rice with semolina/sooji/rave. No change in taste by avoiding rice, it is equally tasty and actually much more healthier recipe , which one can enjoy often without worrying about rising blood sugar levels. Over all it has become a low calorie – diabetic friendly breakfast.

Ingredients :

  • Semolina/rava/rave – 1 cup
  • Red lentil/ Masoor dal – 6 tbsp or heaped 1/3 cup
  • Green gram – 6 tbsp or heaped 1/3 cup
  • Black lentil/ Urad dal – 2 tbsp
  • Mixed bengal gram,whole black gram – 6 tbsp or heaped 1/3 cup
  • Green chilli – 2 nos.,
  • Red chilli – 2 nos.,
  • Asafoetida/ Hing – 1/4 tsp
  • Ginger paste – 1/2 tsp
  • Curry leaves – 10 – 15
  • Salt to taste

         

PROCEDURE :

  • Soak all the lentils together for minimum 2 hours
  • Combine semolina/rava and all the other ingredients with the soaked lentils and grind to a fine paste
  • Heat the tawa pour the dosay/dosa batter and spread
  • Smear 1/4 tsp oil and cook on both the sides
  • Serve with chutney

 

Here I have served the dosay/dosa with anjoora/anjeer/figs chutney
