CARROT SWEET PARATHA & STUFFED POORI

This is something I tried with left over carrot halwa. I never thought it will serve a day’s breakfast programme….but it did. So gladly sharing it with you all. First I thought of making paratha, while in the process it strike my mind why not Poori !!?? so this is the result. Everybody liked it very much, so from now on wards it will be considered for regular breakfast at our place.

 

        Ingredients:

  • Wheat flour – 1 cup
  • Fine soji / chiroti rava – 1/2 cup
  • Salt –  two pinches
  • Water to knead the dough
  • Rice flour for dusting

 

         For stuffing:

  • Carrot halwa – 1&1/2 cup
  • Mixed dry fruits powder – 3/4 cup
  • cinnamon powder – 1/4 tsp
  • Cloves powder – half of 1/4 tsp
  • Cardamom powder – 1/4 tsp
  • Oil for deep frying

 

 

         PROCEDURE:

         For Paratha:

  • Mix 1 cup Wheat flour, a pinch of salt and knead a semi stiff dough using water
  • Take equal quantity of mixed dry fruits like Almond, Pista, Walnut and powder it together
  • Mix halwa, dry fruits powder, cinnamon, cloves & cardamom powder
  • Take a portion of dough and stuff it with a portion of halwa dry fruits mix
  • Roll it dusting with rice flour ( Paratha & poori becomes crispy, if rice flour is used for dusting)
  • Fry on a heated tawa and serve

 

         For Poori:

  • Mix 1/2 cup fine soji, a pinch of salt and knead a stiff dough using water
  • Take a portion of knead dough
  • Stuff halwa &dry fruit mix
  • Roll into thick poori size round
  • Deep fry in the oil & serve
