BEETROOT BUTTERMILK/SALT LASSI/NEERU MAJJIGE

Very recently I learnt this from Ms. Bijal Parikh, a co-member in one of the group. I’m always ready to make anything using beetroot, so tried it immediately but with little changes. Sharing the same with you all. A healthy cold beverage. Now this is going to be a regular one at my place during summer. Thanks to her, for this wonderful drink recipe.

     Ingredients :

  • Beetroot (grated) – 1/2 cup
  • Mint leaves – 10
  • Curry leaves – 20 ( I used still more)
  • Curd – 2 cups
  • Water – 1 cup
  • Rock salt – according to taste

 

         PROCEDURE :

  • Grind together Beetroot, Mint leaves, Curry leaves and salt to a fine paste
  • Add curd and water and pulse it again ( If you wish, Pass it through a strainer, but I never do )
  • Use curd and water according the desired consistency
  • Serve chilled or you can use chilled curds and water to serve immediately
