SPROUTED FENUGREEK SEEDS RAITA / MENTHYA TAMBULI

Tambuli is a curd based gravy eaten at the beginning of the meal, mixed with hot rice. This is one of our Malenadu ( my native ) special, which we love to eat any day. This is a most common thing during summer season. Very healthy, easy and quick recipe

 

 

 

        Ingredients :

  • Oil – 1/4 tsp
  • Cumin seeds – 1/4 tsp
  • Fenugreek seeds – 1/4 tsp ( heaped )
  • Whole red chilli – 1
  • Grated fresh coconut – 1&1/2 tbsp

 

        For tempering :

  • Ghee – 1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds – 1/4 tsp
  • Sprouted fenugreek seeds – 1 tbsp

 

        Other Ingredients :

  • Curd – 1/4 cup or as required
  • Salt to  taste

 

        PROCEDURE :

  • Heat oil and roast everything till light brown, let it cool, Grind coarsely using very little water ( 1 tbsp )
  • Prepare tempering using ingredients under the heading ‘ for tempering ‘
  • Add curd to the ground paste and mix well
  • Pour the tempering.. combine everything and serve
