SOUTHEKAYI AKKI ROTTI / CUCUMBER-RICE FLOUR THALIPEETH

This is one of the staple food in Karnataka. It is quick, easy and healthy too. This can be made directly on tawa or can be spread on the butter sheet with the help of oil or can also be made on rotti tatte (rotti Plate )

 

 

        Ingredients : 

  • Rice flour – 2 cups
  • Cumin seeds – 1&1/2 tbsp
  • Grated fresh coconut – 1/2 cup or less
  • Green chilli – 2 or according to taste
  • Coriander leaves
  • Curry leaves
  • Grated cucumber – 1 cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil to roast the thalipeeth

 

       PROCEDURE :

  • Chop coriander leaves, curry leaves and green chilli
  • Combine everything well except oil , The water content in the cucumber will be enough to knead the dough
  • Add extra water, only if needed to knead the dough
  • Make portions of the dough and flatten it on tawa/paper/plate using little oil or oil+water
  • Cook on both the sides and serve
