CURRY LEAVES CHUTNEY / KARIBEVINA CHUTNEY

A very healthy chutney with a very few ingredients. No need to say we get lot of health benefits by eating curry leaves. Same is mentioned in Ayurveda as well. We use curry leaves in almost all spicy and salt preparations. Curry leaves chutney is a regular accompaniment , not only with dosay… but it tastes fantastic with rice, rotti etc. I like this chutney accompanied with curd rice.

 

 

 

        Ingredients :

  • Curry leaves – 1/2 cup
  • Green chilli – 2 or 3 or according to taste
  • Grated fresh coconut – 1/3 cup
  • Thick tamarind pulp – 1 tsp ( I use 1/2 tbsp )
  • Salt to taste
  • Water

 

       PROCEDURE :

  • Put everything in a blender or mixie jar, grind to a fine paste by adding water to get required consistency
  • You can also put tempering with 1 tsp ghee, 1/4 tsp mustard seeds ( But I don’t do ) and… pour over the chutney
