WHOLE WHEAT FLOUR / RICE FLOUR – BOTTLE GOURD ROTTI (ROTI)

A very healthy combination of bottle gourd and two different flours rotti (roti). I prefer to keep the rotti little thick that too with wheat flour. It can be eaten for breakfast or lunch or dinner. So it is a anytime dish.

 

 

 

        Ingredients :

  • Bottle gourd (grated) – 1 cup ( 1/2 cup + 1/2 cup )
  • Water to knead both the dough

 

        For whole wheat flour rotti :

  • Whole wheat flour – 1 cup
  • Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
  • Red chilli Powder – 1/4 to 1/2 tsp
  • Curry leaves – 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

 

       For rice flour rotti : 

  • Rice flour – 1 cup
  • Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
  • Green chilli – 2 Chopped or to taste
  • Coriander leaves – 1/4 cup
  • Salt to taste

 

        PROCEDURE : 

  • Mix all the ingredients under the heading ‘ For whole wheat flour rotti ‘ & 1/2 cup of grated bottle gourd, well and keep it covered for ten minutes
  • Then check for the consistency , and if needed add little water and make a soft dough
  • Repeat the same procedure with Rice flour rotti and make a soft dough
  • Now grease a butter paper or Rotti plate or Banana leaf or tawa or karahi , wet or grease your palm and pinch a portion of the dough and spread it evenly by patting it
  • Cook on both the sides and serve with mixed vegetable subji
  • Can also be served with any chutney or any accompaniment.
