AMLA / INDIAN GOOSEBERRY / BETTADA NELLIKAYI CHUTNEY

Amla / Indian Gooseberry / nellikayi has many healthy benefits. It provides remedies for many diseases. Amla is very rich in Vitamins & minerals like calcium, Phosphorous, Iron, Carotene, Vitamin B complex etc. It is widely used in Ayurvedic treatments. Amla is a super fruit which slows down Ageing, cures sore throat, Increases diuretic activity, metabolic activity, reduces blood sugar level, fights against heart diseases, boosts immunity and high in digestive fiber etc. Today I’m sharing with you all a simple Amla-fresh coconut chutney.

 

     Ingredients :

  • Amla – 3 to 4 (big)
  • Grated fresh coconut – 1 cup
  • Green chilli – 10 to 12 Or as per need
  • Hing – a generous pinch
  • Salt to taste

 

For tempering :

  • Oil – 1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp ( since it is amla I have used more amount of Mustard seeds)

 

      PROCEDURE :

  • Wash , wipe and grate the Amla
  • Put everything together in a mixie jar and grind it into a fine paste using little water
  • Prepare tempering and mix it with the chutney
  • Tasty, spicy & healthy Amla chutney is ready to serve
