BANANA-WALNUT SEMOLINA BATH/SHEERA/HALWA (SUGARLESS)

Walnuts are high-calorie, high-fat food, but they are healthy calories and healthy fats, and I always like to use it in every possible dish. Today I made semolina bath using banana-walnut-fresh coconut without sugar but by adding a small amount of jaggery. No need to say it was toooooo yummy ! Today I paired it with Lentils & Pulses masale dosay along with coconut/kaayi chutney, or it also can be served with fresh coconut chutney.  It has all the goodness of walnut, jaggery, fresh coconut, banana and semolina overall making it a healthy dish.  People of all the age group can indulge in this.  Here’s how we can make it…..

     Ingredients :

  • Semolina/sooji – 1/2 cup
  • Water – 1 cup
  • Ghee – 2 tbsp (I have used 1 tbsp)
  • Walnuts – 1/3 cup
  • Jaggery – 1/2 cup (I have used 1/4 cup)
  • Grated fresh coconut – 1/2 cup
  • Banana – 2 medium sized
  • Cardamom powder – 1/4 tsp

    PROCEDURE :

  • To begin with boil 1 cup of water and dissolve jaggery in it and pass it through the strainer and keep it aside
  • Heat ghee in a pan, add in walnuts & semolina, roast till light brown or nice aroma comes
  • Now add in that dissolved jaggery water, cover and let it cook on low flame

  • Once cooked add in chopped banana, coconut and cardamom powder

  • Combine every thing softly on low fire only

  • Serve hot banana-walnut semolina bath
