SPICE POWDER/CHUTNEY PUDI……. pudi/powder specially for masale dosay/dosa

I made this spice powder or chutney pudi specially to apply on Open butter pudi masale/masala dosay/dosa. The combination of ingredients is my own guess work, it means I have added those ingredients and its quantity which I felt will be alright for this particular type of spice powder to go with dosay/dosa. It can also used as an accompaniment for lunch/dinner along with other dishes or it can be served with other types of dosay/dosa or roti or rotti (thalipeeth).

 

       Ingredients :

  • Bengal gram lentil/chana dal – 1 tbsp
  • Black gram lentil/urad dal – 1 tbsp
  • Pigeon pea/toor dal/arahar dal – 1 tbsp
  • Peanuts – 1/4 cup
  • Roasted gram/hurigadale/chutney ka chana – 1/4 cup
  • Grated dry coconut – 3/4 cup
  • Whole red chilli – 14 to 16 (non spicy)
  • Curry leaves – 20 nos.,
  • White sesame seeds – 1&1/2 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Jaggery, tamarind and salt – as per taste (I have used 1 inch piece of each jaggery and tamarind)

 

 

      PROCEDURE :

  • Roast everything separately, don’t burn, allow it to come to room temperature
  • Grind it into a coarse powder
  • Let it cool completely and store in a airtight container
