MANGO-SEMOLINA SHEERA/MANGO-SOOJI HALWA

Yet another yummiest sheera recipe using fresh fruit ie…. mango ! We all at home like sheera with any kind of fresh fruit, it’s our favourite. Normally people use sugar in this recipe, but it turns out equally yummy using jaggery too. I personally like sooji halwa (plain) made using jaggery, so I have just added fresh to the same recipe. It tastes best if you can choose sweetest mango or no issues if you choose mango which is little sour and more sweet. You just need to add a pinch of salt if the fruit is little sour.

Ingredients :

  • Semolina/sooji/rave – 1/2 cup
  • Mango puree – 1 cup
  • Jaggery – 5 tbsp
  • Ghee – 2 tbsp
  • Almonds – 3 tbsp
  • Raisins – 1&1/2 tbsp

 

PROCEDURE :

  • Heat 1/2 tbsp ghee in a pan and add in semolina and roast well till light brown/it leaves nice aroma on medium flame and transfer to a plate
  • Now heat remaining 1&1/2 tbsp ghee in the same pan and add in chopped almonds, raisins saute it and add in roasted semolina and stir well while combining everything

  • Add in mango puree and stir till the mixture becomes thick

  

  • Now add in jaggery and stir until the mixture leaves the pan

  

  • Remove from the fire and serve
