Do you have over ripe bananas ? don’t worry you can use it this way ! one more kids friendly recipe which uses all the healthy ingredients. Very quick and easy to make dish. Very recently I have posted Instant chocolate idly, which is also a kids friendly recipe. And sometime back I  had posted one more type of kid friendly recipe ie…. chocolate dosay/dosa. This Idly can be served as after school snack as well in the evening. The below mentioned quantity of ingredients makes 10 nos., of Idly.

Ingredients :

  • Semolina/sooji/rave – 1/2 cup
  • Banana – 2 big
  • Grated fresh coconut – 1/4 cup
  • Warm milk – 1/4 cup
  • Jaggery – 3 tbsp
  • Curd – 1/4 cup
  • Ghee – 1/2 tbsp
  • Baking powder – 1/4 tsp
  • Salt – a pinch




  • Mix milk & curd in a bowl and beat it for a while to get it evenly mixed

  • Mash the bananas in a bowl really well
  • Now add in all the other ingredients and curd-milk mixture to the mashed banana and mix everything nicely without any lumps


  • Wet the idly plates and pour the batter, and steam it for 12 minutes and let it sit for 5 minutes
