Ginger raita is also known as digestive raita. It is consumed at the beginning of the lunch with a very small quantity of rice, then we proceed with other dishes. It is said that when we are indulging in a heavy lunch, this helps for better digestion. Generally also we enjoy this with white rice.

Mustard seed is called as ”sasive” in Kannada. Ground mustard seeds tastes different. In this  dish mustard seed is the key ingredient.
