A very simple, easy. quick stir fry, sauteed in a very basic tempering , using cabbage and Peas. The Kannada word Palya translates to sookha subji/stir fry. This is absolutely easy very much suitable for beginners/learners, bachelors, students & all.
Actually this is prepared as an accompaniment with saaru(rasam) or huli(sambar) to serve in the meals. But also paired with akki rotti, poori, chapati etc. This can also be relished mixed with rice, this palya and hot steaming rice – never feel like finishing the meals.
In this recipe, we can put soaked and cooked dried peas also or fresh green peas also. If you are using the dried ones, then you need to boil it separately until soft, then add to the stir fried cabbage. Whereas if you are using fresh ones, they you can put it along with cabbage at the beginning.
