Chickpeas sweet rice flakes| Kadalekalu sihi avalakki

Recently I had posted the savory version of Poha chickpeas/chana cucumber Poha recipe, So while preparing that dish I got the idea of making its sweet version as well. So here is the recipe for Sweet version of poha/beaten rice/rice flakes using chickpeas. I would say a healthy, yummy addition to my poha recipes list.

Ingredients :
For sweet version :
- Beaten rice – 1 cup
- Cooked chickpeas – 1/2 cup
- Jaggery – 1/3 cup
- Water – 2 table spoon
- Ghee – 1 tbsp
- Cashew nut pieces – 2 tbsp
- Cloves – 2 nos.,
- Raisins – 2 tbsp
- Grated fresh coconut – 1/3 cup (Grated dry coconut also goes well with this)
- Cardamom Powder – 1/2 tsp
PROCEDURE :
- Wash the beaten rice well and drain all the water and keep it aside covered
- Heat the water in a container add jaggery, let it dissolve fully then strain it and keep it aside
- Heat ghee in a pan, add cashews let it become golden brown… add cloves
- Add Strained Jaggery water & chickpeas and let it boil…
- Add beaten rice… combine everything well & add cardamom powder
- Transfer into the bowl and sprinkle coconut and serve
