DRIED PEAS USLI/SALAD

Posted in : BEGINNERS/LEARNER'S/RECIPES, DIABETIC FRIENDLY RECIPES, Stir fry| salad| Playa| Sookha subji| Usli| on by : Divya Suresh

It is made exactly like how we make usli/salad using dried chickpeas, black eyed beans/lobia, horse gram/hurali/kulthi or whole green gram. These are all a protein rich, fibre rich, healthy accompaniments served with meals, mostly with lunch. We also make saaru/rasam and huli/dal using the stock/water in which these legumes are cooked and make salad/usli using the cooked legumes and we call it as ‘kalina kattina saaru/huli’. Likewise today I’m here with the recipe of usli/salad made using dried peas. I have taken equal quantity of both yellow and green dried peas, but can be made separately using any one of them at a time. Tastes best when made little more spicy but depends on your choice of preferred spice level.
