Masala sweet corn is one of my favorite chat, which is truly delicious and very easy to make. Often I prefer eating that whenever we go out (used to go out !!). One day it did strike my mind that …. what if I grind that whole corn chat dish and add to the wheat flour and make chapati or paratha whatever ! So…. did the same and the outcome is awesome.
So I have put all the spices, salt and corn quantity as per our requirement, but you can always adjust everything according to your need.
Ingredients :
measuring cup used – 250 ml,
makes 4 Parathas/chapatis of below shown size
- Whole wheat flour – 1 cup
- Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
- Coriander leaves – 2 to 3 tbsp
- Water – 2 to 3 tbsp (including for grinding) to knead the dough
- Oil/ghee/butter – to smear on the paratha
- Flour – for dusting
Grind together :
- Sweet corn kernels – 1 cup
- Red chili flakes – 1/2 tsp
- Cumin powder – 1/2 tsp
- Black pepper powder – 1/4 tsp
- Sugar – 1 tsp
- Salt – 1 tsp (adjust)
- Lemon juice – 1 tbsp (adjust)
PROCEDURE :
- Gather together all the ingredients listed below the heading ‘ grind together ‘ and grind into a smooth paste using 1 or 2 tbsp of water
- Now in a bowl/parath take wheat flour, cumin seeds, ground paste and coriander leaves, mix everything well
- Knead into a soft stiff dough using remaining water, rest for 10 to 15 minutes roll into chapati/paratha
- Roast on a heated tawa on both the sides by smearing little oil/ghee/butter
I have paired the Paratha/chapati along with SPROUTED FENUGREEK-RAW MANGO CHUTNEY-TOKKU
