PROTEIN RICH DOSAY/ADAI DOSA/ADAY DOSAY ….. also using black eyed beans and red rice – VIDEO

I’m back with one more type of diabetic friendly recipe, which also contains lot of protein in it. I have been able to make video also for this recipe. As I have said earlier also many times, I keep changing the ingredients I have to put and their proportion most of the times while I think of making dosay/dosa.
This time I have put matta rice/red rice/Kempakki nuchhu, black eyed beans/alasande kalu, whole green gram along with regular lentils, herbs & spices. And that definitely made a huge difference in taste and aroma besides the health benefit.
Earlier I have shared Semolina pulses lentils adai/aday dosay, in which red lentil/masoor dal and green gram/hesarukalu were the additions along with other lentils & spices. One more such recipe you can find here is using Kodo millet mixed lentil adai dosa/aday dosay . And yet another special, diabetic friendly aday dosay recipe is made using Fresh Peas and ragi along with lentils, pulses, herbs & spices, which is again a video recipe as well.
Ingredients : measuring cup – 240 ml
- Black eyed beans/alasande kalu – 1/2 cup
- Whole green gram/hesaru kalu – 1/4 cup
- Bengal gram/kadale bele – 1/4 cup
- Pigeon peas/togari bele – 1/4 cup
- Split green gram/hesaru bele – 1/4 cup
- broken matta red rice/kempakki nuchhu – 1/2 cup
- Red chilies (for color) – 6 to 8
- Fenugreek seeds/menthya – 1 tsp
- Black pepper corns – 1 tsp
- Grated ginger – 1 tbsp
- Fresh/raw turmeric – 1 tsp
- Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
- Curry leaves – 2 strings
- Rock salt – 3/4 tbsp
- Water – to grind
Procedure :
- Gather, rinse well and soak all the legumes, lentils, rice, red chilies, fenugreek seeds in enough water for 8 hours or overnight
- After soaking, take a mixie jar and first add the soaked red chilies turmeric, ginger, black pepper corns, cumin, curry leaves, salt and also add lentil mixture and grind little coarsely by adding little water at a time
- Also grind the remaining soaked lentil mixture by using little water at a time, transfer to a container and mix everything well
- Heat the tawa, wipe with the wet cloth, pour a ladle full of batter and spread evenly into a thin circle. Smear little oil and roast on both the sides
- Remove from the tawa and serve hot with any kind of accompaniment/s of your choice
We can also make gunthpongalu/Paddu/Guliyappa using this same batter.
