FRESH COCONUT BURFI LAYERED MILK CHOCOLATE a fusion chocolate recipe
Posted in : BEGINNERS/LEARNER'S/RECIPES, CHOCOLATE on by : Divya Suresh
I did not know that chocolate, coffee flavor and fresh coconut goes with each other so very well !!
Yes I’m talking about today’s recipe – burfi layered chocolate. It is a fusion recipe of south Indian famous, our own karnataka special sweet/burfi made using fresh coconut burfi with milk chocolate. The traditional coconut burfi is being layered between the milk chocolate layers.
Mainly I have used Ossoro’s 3 kinds of flavours in this chocolate recipe ie… Rabdi flavour, Colombian coffee flavour (coconut burfi) & Masala milk flavour (milk chocolate). And the outcome is so awesome with nice aroma & flavor and I insist everybody to try out this recipe at least once.
I have used powdered brown sugar while making chocolate and powdered rock sugar (white) in the coconut burfi. Also cold pressed coconut oil has been used to make these chocolates.
I have a detailed video of the recipe posted below. It is very easy to make and yummy too… so go ahead and make them and please let me have the feedback as well …..
Ingredients :
For making milk chocolate :
- Coconut oil – 60 gm(I have put cold pressed, use as per your choice/requirement)
- Powdered brown sugar – 60 gm
- Cocoa powder – 60 gm
- Milk Powder – 30 gm
- Milk masala flavor – 1 tsp
For coconut burfi/mixture : measuring cup used – 200 ml
- Powdered sugar – 3/4 cup (I have put powdered white rock sugar)
- Grated fresh coconut – 1&1/2 cup
- Rabdi flavor – 1/2 tsp
- Colombian coffee flavor – 1/2 tsp
NOTES :
- You need to make chocolate in two different batches by putting the same measurement of ingredients.
- Line a tray with parchment paper/butter paper and keep it ready
PROCEDURE
- Following the double boil method (boil the water rapidly in a vessel/container and place a glass bowl on it, the bottom of the bowl should not touch the water in the container, once the water is rapidly boiled reduce the heat) put coconut oil into the bowl and let it melt completely
- Once melted, add sugar, milk powder and cocoa powder and stir continuously
- When it becomes thin liquid, add milk masala flavor and stir again for a while and transfer to a lined tray, spread it evenly, and tap it well to get it evenly settled and immediately refrigerate it
- Now in a kadai/pan Put sugar and coconut, keep stirring the mixture until no moisture is left
- Add both Rabdi and Colombian coffee flavors and stir further for a minute or more
- take out the chocolate tray from the refrigerator, layer it with prepared coconut mixture
- Simultaneously once again prepare the milk chocolate mixture and spread it on the coconut mixture layer
- Tap the tray well and refrigerate again further for 1 hour
- Remove from the refrigerator and cut it into desired shape and size
- Yummy fusion milk chocolate is ready to relish on
