How to use beetroot in many ways |

Making of beetroot cubes | ಬೀಟ್ರೂಟಿನ ವಿವಿಧ ರೀತಿಯ ಬಳಕೆ |
Normally we all use beetroot in the form of subji/palya, salad, raita, chutney, huli (sambar), Kootu (mix veg huli), saaru(rasam), halwa, milk shake etc etc. But the fact is we cannot make these on everyday basis, I mean no one likes to eat if you make something or the other using beetroot everyday.
But the more consumption of beetroot provides us with many health benefits and also it is very much needed for those who suffer from anemia. In fact beetroots are extremely important in curing anemia. The juice of red beetroot strengthen the body’s power to regenerate and re-activate the red blood cells and supplies the body with fresh oxygen.
So my idea is to use the beetroot juice in some form everyday. So what I did is… grated the beetroot, added some water (very little) to it, squeezed that mixture well with hands, then passed it through the strainer to collect the red juice, Poured the collected red juice into ice cubes tray and allowed it to sit in the freezer for 8 to 10 hours to get an awesome red colored cubes !!
And you can add those cubes everyday into the curries, huli/sambar, saaru/rasam, cool drinks etc as many as you want or as much the dish demands, besides the health benefits you’ll also get to consume the goodness of beetroot everyday. You can also add it to plain drinking water as well, like once in a day or twice in a week.
We can use the remains of grated beet in making Palya/subji, paratha, rotti, holige (pooran poli), halwa etc etc etc what ever your creativity suggests/allows ! in so many ways. So I’m going to use beetroot everyday in small quantity, How about you ?
