ಬಾಳೇಕಾಯಿ ಕಟ್ಲೆಟ್

Raw banana cutlet using only one tsp of oil and made on Iron tawa. Today I’m not going to write much about the health benefits of consuming raw banana rather let us directly go to the recipe, explained with step wise procedure pics

Ingredients :
  • Raw bananas – 4 nos., medium sized
  • Green chili – 1
  • Ginger – 1 tsp
  • Coriander leaves – 1&1/2 tbsp
  • Curry leaves – 1 tbsp
  • Salt – 1/2 tsp
  • Pepper Powder – 1/8 tsp
  • Red chili Powder (mildly hot) – 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin seeds powder – 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
  • Pomegranate seeds Powder – 1 tsp (optional)
  • Flax meal/flax seeds powder – 1&1/2 tbsp
  • Rice flour – 3 tbsp
  • Chiroti rave/fine semolina – 3 tbsp
  • Raisins – 3 to 4 tbsp
PROCEDURE :
  • Wash well the raw bananas, cut and remove both the edges and pressure cook until soft along with its skin on. It takes one whistle in my cooker, but you can do as per your requirement. Once pressure is released, take out the bananas, peel and mash them well using a fork or masher or you can also grate them
  • Now one by one add all the spices, herbs, rice flour, semolina, flax seeds powder/flax meal and salt, mix everything well, divide into equal portions
  • Take a portion and flatten it into round or square or oval shape or you can also make a roll, stuff with 3 to raisins in each portion and bind well
  • Roast them on both/all the sides on a heated iron tawa by applying couple of tea spoon’s of oil and serve along with any kind of chutney of your choice.
  • I have paired these cutlets along with Peanut green chutney and tamarind sweet chutney

Here you should definitely check the recipe of Dahi Ke Sholay or Dahi veggie bread roll , made using home made hung curd
