ಪ್ಲೈನ್ ದೋಸೆ/ಸಾದಾ ದೋಸೆ |

Plain dosay/dosay is the very basic kind of making dosay/dosa among all other varieties of dosay/dosay. Being the staple food of Southern parts of India , dosay/dosay is a healthy and filling dish which contains proteins & carbohydrates, which is very essential/necessary for every individual in the morning.

This is a very easy recipe if the batter prepared is right in every manner. Fermented food are so good for our health. They build immunity, improve digestion, add to the healthy gut etc are some of the reasons for having these healthy stuffs

We, the people of southern parts of India include a wide variety of our favorite fermented foods in our daily diet. Be it home made curd or wide varieties of dosay or idly for that matter. Yes we do make curd at home everyday, because without eating curd our meal is incomplete.

Ingredients : measuring cup used 250 ml
  • Raw rice – sona masoori – 1 cup
  • Split black gram/urad dal/uddina bele- 1/4 cup
  • Beaten rice/rice flakes(poha) – 1/4 cup
  • Fenugreek seeds – 1/2 tsp
  • Salt – 1 tsp (adjust)
  • Water – 1/2 +1/8 cup
  • Oil for roasting dosay/dosa
PROCEDURE :
  • Soak rice, lentil, rice flakes and fenugreek seeds for 6 – 8 hours
  • Grind everything together including salt in a mixie jar by adding water
  • Transfer to a bowl/vessel, cover and keep it over night for fermenting
  • Next morning Heat tawa and pour a ladle full of batter  and make dosay/dosa, by smearing little oil
  • Flip & roast on the other side as well, serve along with coconut chutney
