This is one such super dessert which is free from any kind of food thickeners like…. gelatin, egg whites etc. Instead I have put flaxseed solution as a replacement.

The main ingredient used in this recipe (original recipe) was corn flour and I did not want to use it. So I replaced corn flour with home made Sago/Sabbakki/Sabudana flour and it was equally awesome in taste And no compromise at all.

The original recipe, I learnt from a cookery show on tv, made by Ms. Sridevi Ananth. Many thanks to her for letting us know this yummiest desert recipe

I have put two different kinds of flavour from Ossoro and their Belgian chocolate powder as well, which enhanced the flavor and aroma

Today I have updated this recipe and now it is also with a video, below at the end you can have a look

Ingredients : measuring cup used – 200 ml

  • Milk – 3 cups
  • Sago/Sabbakki/Sabudana flour – 5 tbsp (powdered at home)
  • Brown sugar (powdered) – 6 tbsp (adjust)
  • Belgian chocolate powder – 1&1/2 tbsp
  • Flax seeds powder – 1 tbsp
  • Kesar flavour/essence – 1/2 tsp
  • Shrikand flavour/essence – 1/2 tsp

Other ingredients :

  • Chocolate syrup – to spread on mousse
  • Almond flakes – for garnishing (you can use any nuts of your choice)

PROCEDURE :

  • To begin with take the flax seeds powder in a bowl, to that add 1 cup hot milk, mix well and set aside for 5 minutes
  • Meanwhile heat 1 more cup of milk in another vessel until it comes to boil
  • Meanwhile add Sago flour, remaining 1 cup of milk, chocolate powder, sugar powder to the  flax seed mixture and stir everything well
  • Pour this whole mixture into the boiling milk while stirring continuously
  • Keep stirring until it becomes thick and comes to right consistency
  • Now add both flavours/essence and stir to mix well and remove from the heat
  • Pour a spoon full of chocolate syrup into each serving cups or moulds and Pour the prepared mousse on that
  • Sprinkle Almond flakes & put chocolate syrup on it and refrigerate it for minimum one hour ( it can be kept in freezer for less duration to make it fast)
  • healthy, yummy Chocolate mousse is ready to serve

By the way I have also prepared a recipe jar using this healthy mousse (I’m making the jar recipe for the first time ever in my life, it tastes so yum……) home made pineapple cake and homemade pineapple compote. Will soon share the recipe of both pineapple cake and compote.
