QUICK/INSTANT MATWADI PALYA WITH POWDERED LENTIL….. using french beans+carrot+cabbage

By saying quick or instant what I meant is – we can skip/save the soaking time of lentil. Yes !

And another specialty about this recipe is I have used cabbage along with french beans and carrot in it . I have not seen anyone in my close circle making matwadi palya by using cabbage, at least not in my family ! So what I got to know is cabbage also goes well with the ground matwadi palya masala, without any kind of odd smell or anything.

Today I tried making this palya/subji differently by not soaking the lentil we use for grinding ie…pigeon pea, rather I powdered it coarsely first, and then added all the other ingredients, did grind the whole thing again coarsely using little water (we can grind the mixture without adding water also to keep the palya/subji crumbly) steamed it… then prepared the tempering in a pan, added the steamed lentil mixture, sauteed for a minute, added cooked beans, carrot and cabbage and required salt… that’s it the powdered lentil matawadi palya was ready in minutes to be consumed/used. It also turned out absolutely fantastic like how it will be when we make the subji by using soaked lentil’s ground paste. Obviously it saves us at least some time during those hectic hours and also we can make this healthy subji/palya whenever we feel like eating, or for making it as evening snack without any worries of soaking.

Earlier I have posted the the recipe of making matawadi palya using fenugreek leaves(methi) and have put same set of ingredients in this recipe as well and also in the same proportion, just powdered the lentil. Below I have posted the process pics of the powdered lentil matwadi palya using beans, carrot and cabbage
