One of the easiest and best way to consume lots of this wonderful, healthy green leafy vegetable is making Paratha using them. Just a couple of herbs and spices and it tastes so wonderful that you feel like making and consuming it very often and above all you will have that satisfaction of eating something very healthy.

Often I make this paratha, but never clicked the procedure pics because of some reason or the other, so this time clicked the pics without fail. Savoring these parathas when they are hot is a pure bliss.

During summer we can make any curd based accompaniments like raita but during winter spicy subjis/curries go well with this paratha. By the way you can also check many more paratha recipes here. Some special ones like Apple chili paratha , cucumber paratha , Lachha paratha , Rajma paratha , dal paratha , Pink paratha , coriander paratha , masala sweet corn paratha , Sattu ka paratha

And the sweeter ones like carrot sweet paratha , quick groundnut sweet paratha , Almond banana paratha

And some of the regular ones like Broccoli aloo methi paratha , fenugreek leaves paratha (winter special) , broccoli paratha , cabbage rotti/paratha , Sweet potato paratha , The north Indian famous Aloo paratha , also some of the winter specials like mooli paratha , matar paratha.

Now when I’m listing the parathas name I just realised that I haven’t yet posted the recipes of couple of more of them like cauliflower paratha, besan ka paratha and gur/jaggery ka paratha etc which are again one of the winter special delicacies ! but will do so asap.

And now talking about today’s recipe, you need just a couple of ingredients combined with little effort and ……. you will be savoring this superlicious…healthy…filling …awesome food

Ingredients : measuring cup used – 250 ml, makes 6 parathas of shown size

  1. Whole wheat flour – 1 cup
  2. Palak puree – 1 cup
  3. Cumin seeds powder – 1/2 tbsp
  4. Red chili flakes – 1 tsp
  5. Salt – 3/4 tsp (adjust)

PROCEDURE :

Wash and rinse well the spinach (here I have put baby spinach, you can use any kind of palak) and blanch them(put them in the rapidly boiled water for five minutes, drain all the water, let it cool a bit, then grind into a paste without adding water

Now gather together the flour, red chili powder, cumin seeds powder, salt and spinach puree, knead into a stiff dough while combining everything well

Divide into portions, roll into small disc, apply oil and fold twice to get the triangular shape

Roll out into a triangle of medium thickness (neither too thin nor thick) and roast on a heated tawa on both the sides by smearing little oil

I served the Palak Paratha along with Pudina amla chutney & green grapes gojju/tangy curry
