MIXED VEGETABLE SOUP/ಮಿಶ್ರ ತರಕಾರಿ ಸೂಪ್

Yet another healthy, easy, simple soup, made using mixed vegetables, which is so soothing during this chill weather.

Yes I have made it in a very simple method. I have not put any kind of spices rather it contains only cumin seeds powder and salt. I could not take the procedure pics as well as I was not sure of the outcome. But very soon I shall update the post with procedure pics.

I can not say that its a clear soup but I have put vegetable stock in it. And for the body I have put one tbsp of each Bajra (Pearl millet) flour and Sorghum (Jowar) flour.

I have put veggies like french beans, carrot, onion, cabbage mainly. But we can also put sweet corn, broccoli, cauliflower, fresh peas, green onion etc.

However you can also check my recent post on tomato soup recipe, which is again made in my own way, to match our preferences.

Ingredients : measuring cup used – 200 ml, Serves 4

  • Ghee – 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds powder – 1 tsp
  • Coriander leaves – 1/4 cup
  • Bajra flour/Pearl millet flour – 1 tbsp
  • Jowar flour/Sorghum flour – 1 tbsp
  • Salt – to taste
  • Water – 4 cups

Finely chopped veggies like :

  • Onion – 1/3 cup
  • French beans – 1/3 cup
  • Carrot – 1/3 cup
  • Cabbage – 1/3 cup
PROCEDURE :
  • Cook french beans, carrot and cabbage in 2 cups of water
  • Stir in both the flours in 1 cup of water
  • On the other hand, heat ghee in a pan, add in cumin seeds powder, stir once, add onion and saute until it turns slightly soft
  • Now add the cooked vegetables along with the stock, when the mixture starts boiling, add in the stirred flour water, salt and remaining water. Let it boil really well while stirring continuously
  • Remove from the heat, pour into the soup bowl/plates and enjoy with the family
