Vangi is a Tamil word which translates to “brinjal’ and ‘bath’ is any dish prepared using rice or rice flakes or semolina etc, therefore this dish is called as vangi bath
A particular type of spice powder/masala powder is freshly made to prepare this rice & it is called as vangi bath powder or Palyada pudi.
Vangi bath (Brinjal Rice) is a nice aromatic, spicy rice preparation, which is one of the age old rice dish and belongs to the category of authentic dishes.
In this rice preparation, we have to prepare brinjal curry first , then it should be mixed with cooked rice. This rice bath has all the tastes like hot, salt, tangy, sweet and bitter.
The same masala powder can be used to make the rice bath using other vegetables like… Beans, Potato, Capsicum, Cluster beans, peas etc. This masala bath can also be made using semolina/sooji in place of rice.
