Yet another type of buttermilk recipe – sago buttermilk, a cold and refreshing beverage on a hot summer day, flavoured with roasted cumin powder and the main additional ingredient used is sago/sabudana.

Just with a very few ingredients put together like cooked sabudana, salt, cumin and coriander leaves this special sago buttermilk will be ready.

Ingredients : measuring cup used – 200 ml

  • Sago / sabudana – 1/4 cup cooked
  • Cumin Powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Green chilli Paste – 1/4 tsp or less according to taste
  • Coriander leaves – 1 tbsp
  • Curd  – 1 cup
  • Water – 1&1/2 cup
  • Salt to taste

PROCEDURE :

  • Take curd and water in a blender jar and blend it
  • Now add all the other ingredients except sago/sabudana and just pulse the blender for few seconds
  • Transfer it to the container and add cooked sago/sabudana (At this stage you can also add more water if required to make this buttermilk more thin)
  • Pour into glasses and it is ready to serve

NOTE : Chilled curd & water can be put OR  Ice cubes can be put OR you can also chill the buttermilk in the refrigerator and serve later

However you can also check some other recipes which uses sago as the main ingredient, Like – (Though apart from these recipes I do add sago in so many dosa/dosay recipes as well)
