One more type of chutney using Amla the seasonal fruit. This time I paired it with mint leaves and made chutney. I have prepared it in the same procedure which I follow while making pudina/mint chutney. I have just replaced tamarind with lots of Grated gooseberry.
The Amla which we get here in Gurgaon is very sour, so we can use more quantity of all the other ingredients also which we put together to make this chutney.
I was bit hesitant before trying it, but Mint-Amla together tasted wonderful. Here is the method to make Mint-Amla chutney
Ingredients : measuring cup used – 200 ml
- Amla – 1 cup (grated, obtained of 2-3 big Amla)
- Mint leaves – 1/2 cup
- Fresh coconut – 1 cup
- Split black gram/Urad dal – 2 tbsp
- Red chilli – 6 to 8 or as per taste (I have used 12)
- Jaggery – 1/2 tbsp
- Salt to taste
For tempering :
- Oil – 1 tsp
- Mustard seeds – 1/4 tsp
PROCEDURE :
- Dry roast black gram, red chilli and mint leaves
- Let it cool for a while, then add coconut, Amla, salt, jaggery and grind using little water
- Prepare tempering and pour it over the chutney
- Mint-Amla chutney is ready to serve
