CARROT POORI

Apart from the regular plain poori, to make it still more healthy and tasty, we can add pureed Spinach, methi, beetroot, tomato, carrot, onion etc. This is one such recipe. Just add some pureed carrot to the whole wheat flour or multigrain flour along with some spices of your choice and make pooris ! that’s it ! Easy, healthy, tasty, colorful pooris will be ready in minutes. Serve it with any kind of sagu, curry, chutney etc.

Ingredients :

  • Whole wheat flour – 1 cup, multi grains flour – 2 cups = 3 cups
  • Grated carrot – 1 cup (tightly packed)
  • Water – 1/2 cup
  • Red chili flakes – 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves – 1 tbsp
  • Ajwain/carom seeds – 1/2 tsp
  • Salt – 3/4 tsp or as per taste

PROCEDURE :

  • Grind grated carrot using 1/2 cup of water into a fine paste
  • Gather the flours, red chili flakes, curry leaves, ajwain, salt and pureed carrot in a bowl and knead the dough

  • Rest it for 10 minutes and knead again well, pinch a portion and roll into poori

 

  • Deep fry in heated oil till light brown, remove and serve with any kind of accompaniment
