ಹಸಿರು ತರಕಾರಿಗಳ ಸಾಗು | ಹಸಿರು ಸಾಗು |

This is called as green sagu, because this is a sagu or curry prepared using only green vegetables. This is prepared by putting less spices and also with few ingredients.

Again one more healthy version of an accompaniment to go with Poori, roti, chapati, rotti and rice. This greens sagu or green vegetables sagu or curry goes well with set dosa/dosay as well.

Ingredients : measuring cup used – 200 ml

Chopped vegetables :

  • Spinach – 1 cup
  • Broccoli florets – 1/4 cup
  • French beans – 1/4 cup
  • Green Peas – 1/4 cup
  • Fresh Green Chickpeas – 1/4 cup

For Grinding :

  • Coriander leaves – 1/2 cup
  • Green chilli – 4 nos., or according to spice level
  • Roasted chana ( hurigadale ) – 2 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
  • Khus-Khus – 1&1/2 tbsp
  • Grated fresh coconut – 1&1/2 tbsp
  • Turmeric Powder – 1/4 tsp
  • Salt to taste

For Tempering :

  • Oil – 1/4 tsp
  • Mustard seeds – 1/4 tsp
  • Curry leaves – few

PROCEDURE:

  • Steam all the vegetables together and add required amount of salt
  • Grind the ingredients under the heading ‘ For grinding ‘ adding little salt (as required)
  • Add ground paste to the cooked/steamed vegetables and let it boil , Add water to get the desired consistency
  • Prepare the tempering and pour it on the ready Sagu and serve
