Red pumpkin stir fry| sihi kumbalakayi Palya

I usually prepare Kootu (curry), Sihi tovve(dal), huli tovve (sambar), raita and Palya (subji) using Red/Green Pumpkin or Kaddu.
And I always use small round red/green pumpkin while making Palya/subji. Here I’m going to share the recipe of the same with you all.
Ingredients : measuring cup used – 250 ml
- Pumpkin (chopped) – 2 cups
- Grated fresh coconut – 1/4 cup
- Coriander leaves – 2 tbsp
- Curry leaves – few
- Green chilli paste or red chilli flakes or whole red chillies – as per taste (I have used green chilli paste)
- Salt to taste
- water to cook pumpkin (actually it takes little water)
For tempering :
- Oil – 1/2 tsp
- Mustard seeds – 1/4 tsp
- Bengal gram – 1 tsp
- Black gram – 1 tsp
PROCEDURE :
- Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds, bengal gram, black gram
- When it splutter add chopped Pumpkin, stir once and add water, cover and cook till little soft
- Now add chilli paste, coriander leaves, curry leaves stir add salt and coconut
- Combine everything well
- Its ready to serve
