Sago flour rotti | Sabudana thalipeeth |

Sabbakki or Sago or Tapioca Pearl is a food which is full of energy and carbohydrates. It can be alternatively used in place of carbonated drinks, providing energy without any artificial chemicals and sweeteners.

Sago/Sabbakki is used in making many sweets, spicy dishes which is very good to consume during summer. Of late I have started making rotti / roti using Sago flour. The roti turns out really soft, crispy and full of flavor. So gladly sharing it with you all.

Ingredients : measuring cup used – 250 ml

  • Sago / Sabbakki flour – 1 cup (Powdered in the mixie)
  • Rice flour – 1/2 cup
  • Cumin seeds – 1/2 tbsp
  • Green chilli – 2 or more as per taste
  • Coriander leaves – 3 tbsp
  • Curry leaves – few
  • Grated fresh coconut – 3/4 cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil – to spread and roast rotti

PROCEDURE :

  • Gather everything in a bowl except oil, mix well
  • Knead into a soft dough using enough water
  • Pinch a portion of the dove, spread it evenly on a sheet or Plate or Tawa using greased hand or wet hand
  • Cook on both the sides till done
