Just an awesome preparation which goes well with any hot & spicy dishes like Pulao (especially Mumbai tawa Pulao), tomato rice, Paratha, roti/rotti etc….
Be it anything this raita is an awesome accompaniment to pair with or we can relish it as such ! Just you have to take care that the curd you use for the raita should not be sour.
We can use any kind of fresh fruits which goes well with each other. Today I have used peeled apple, banana, pineapple and pomegranate.
What I do is, I just put the set curds in the strainer for 10 to 15 minutes, so that the extra water in the curd is removed and the consistency of the raita will be perfect.
Ingredients : measuring cup used is of 250 ml
- Curds – 1 cup
- Banana – 2 nos.,
- Apple – 1/2 of 1 big
- Pineapple – 1/2 cup
- Pomegranate seeds – 1/2 cup
- Sugar/honey/jaggery – 1 tbsp
- Salt – one fat pinch
- Roasted cumin powder – 1/2 tsp + 1/4 tsp
- Black pepper powder – 1/4 tsp (adjust)
- Coriander leaves – 1 or 2 tbsp
PROCEDURE :
- As I said above, let curd pass through the strainer just for 10 to 15 minutes
- Peel and chop both apple and banana
- Add in cumin powder, black pepper powder, salt and sugar/honey/jaggery to the curds and combine well
- Put all the fruits and coriander leaves mix well again
