Curry/subji using Pineapple and POPCORN !!?? Yes you read/heard it right.

A very rare kind of a subji, made using popcorn and pineapple which my both the sons relish happily whenever made.

This is one such dish or recipe which though I prepare often at my place and is also everyone’s favorite, but did not/could not click the pics and never posted it here on my blog too.

But today I could do so and that’s why very happily sharing the recipe with you all. I learnt this recipe very very long ago, when my kids were too young and were very fond of popcorn.

And they were very much surprised when the first time I made this curry and enjoyed well relishing it too. It goes well with any kind of rotis, chapati or poori, phulka etc etc.

Today I served this Pineapple popcorn curry along with fenugreek leaves Phulka or methi phulka or menthya soppu (Kannada) Phulka

PROCEDURE :

  • Cook pineapple cubes aldentely using 1/2 cup of water, cover and keep it aside (You can use its stock itself to make pineapple puree)
  • Heat oil in a pan, add in cumin seeds, ginger and curry leaves, stir well and add in onion and saute well un till it turns translucent
  • Now add turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala powder stir well, then add in pineapple puree and jaggery and let it boil while stirring occasionally
