  • Coriander leaves – for garnishing

For grinding :

  • Grated raw mango – 3/4 cup
  • Grated fresh coconut – 3/4 cup
  • Green chili – 10 nos., (you can adjust depending on the sourness of mango)
  • Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Mustard seeds – 1/2 tbsp

PROCEDURE :

  • Gather and grind together all the ingredients listed below the heading ‘for grinding’ using little water
  • Heat oil in a pan/kadai, add all the ingredients listed below the heading ‘for tempering’ and let them splutter
  • Reduce the heat and then add in the ground coconut-mango mixture, jaggery and saute for a minute or so
  • Now add in the rinsed rice flakes and stir while combining everything well on high heat , turn off the heat and sprinkle coriander leaves
  • Yummy, spicy, tangy coconut mustard rice flakes/kayi sasive avalakki is ready to be relished
