Recently when I made Peas-cashews or Peas-almond yakhni pulao I also prepared this fresh Peas raita to go with that, This recipe is from one of my old books.
I had written the recipe but never felt like trying this particular raita, but believe me when I prepared this, we really liked its awesome taste.
I could never even imagine that… raita using peas would be such a hit. I think now I should try making this raita with parathas and rotis as well as an accompaniment.
Ingredients : measuring cup used – 200 ml
- Green Peas – 1/2 cup
- Curds – 1 cup
- Coriander leaves (chopped) – 1 tbsp
- Ghee – 1/2 tsp
- Mustard seeds _1/4 tsp
- Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
- Dry red chilies – 3 nos.,
- Black pepper powder – 1/4 tsp
- Salt to taste
PROCEDURE :
- Boil Green peas and let it cool
- Add cooled Green peas, coriander leaves & salt to 1 cup curd
- Heat ghee add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, red chilies, black pepper powder & add this to the curd mix
- Serve green peas raita with Pulav
