PINEAPPLE RICE FLAKES LENTIL DISH| ANANAS HESARUBELE AVALAKKI BATH

Flatten rice or rice flakes or avalakki or poha as we call this flattened grain by several names is usually used to make many number of dishes for breakfast, snacks, proper lunch/dinner time dish etc. No doubt this has many health benefits.
We can prepare many different dishes using Poha. Me as a person belonging to Malenadu (My native) crazy about this rice flakes/avalakki
Rice flakes/avalakki comes in various thicknesses and it is easily available everywhere in the market. It can be stored for a long time under proper storage conditions. Flatten Rice/avalakki is lactose free, heart healthy and fat free grain.
They are a good source of eleven vital minerals and vitamins including iron. It contains good amount of carbohydrates, which is good when eaten in the morning for breakfast.
Ingredients : measuring cup used – 200 ml
- Beaten Rice – 1/2 cup
- Split green gram lentil/hesaru bele – 1/4 cup (cooked)
- Chopped pineapple – 1/2 cup (adjust)
- Ghee – 1 tsp
- Broken cashew nuts – 1 tbsp
- Sugar – 1 tbsp
- Grated dry coconut – 1/4 cup
- Turmeric Powder – 1/8 tsp
PROCEDURE :
- Rinse and wash Poha well, drain all the water and set aside
- Heat ghee in a pan, add cashews.. saute it, add pineapple pieces, turmeric powder, cooked dal, Poha and sugar one by one
- Mix well on medium heat until everything gets combined well
- Transfer it to the container and sprinkle dry coconut and serve
