APPLE KESARI along with the goodness of walnuts

Rave kesari ….. ie semolina/sooji ka halwa made using one more kind of fruit and this time it is apple. Earlier I have posted Pineapple kesari , carrot kesari , banana-walnut sheera , mango sheera/kesari , fruits & nuts sheera/kesari along with rice kesari bath , semiya kesari bath and semolina choco-bath in my blog.  In this recipe also I have used walnut along with apple and to get that nice aroma I have also included cloves in the recipe, as cloves & apples goes well together. Here also I have used raw cane sugar, which gives light brown color to the kesari. It is mildly sweet, so you can always adjust the sweetness as per taste.

 

 

Ingredients :

  • Rave/semolina/sooji – 1/2 cup
  • Water – 1&1/2 cup
  • Raw cane sugar – 1/3 cup (adjust)
  • Apple – 1 medium sized

Others :

  • Ghee – 1 tbsp
  • Cloves – 6 nos.,
  • Raisins – 1 tbsp
  • Walnut/Akhroot – 2 tbsp
  • Saffron strands – few

 

PROCEDURE :

  • Dry roast the semolina, without burning on low medium flame
  • Heat ghee in a pan, add in cloves, raisins, akhroot stir once, then add in water and allow it to boil

  • Now add in sugar and stir till it melts

  • Add in saffron strands, apple and roasted semolina, keep the flame to sim and keep stirring

 

  • Remove from the fire when it comes as whole and leaves the corner of the pan

  • Serve hot
