We can actually say – a curd based curry made using moongphali or peanuts or kadale beeja. It turns out very tasty and we all liked it at home.

Today I made this peanuts almond Kadhi or moongphali ki kadhi or kadale beeja kadhi to go with amaranth flour roti but this can also be consumed mixed with hot steaming rice.

We (the people of Karnataka) also make tambuli (curd based raita kind of thing) using peanuts, but this recipe is little different from what we make. This time I could not click and post the step wise pics, but will do so very soon.

Ingredients : measuring cup used 250 ml

  • Peanuts – 1/2 cup
  • Almond – 8 to 10
  • Curd – 1 cup
  • Water – 1 cup
  • Ghee – 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves – 2 strings
  • Green chili – 2
  • Ginger – 1/2 tbsp
  • Whole red chilies – 2

PROCEDURE :

  • Roast, remove the skin and grind the peanuts into a coarse powder along with almonds
  • Gather curd, water, chopped green chilies, ginger paste, Peanut-almond powder and salt in a bowl and combine well
  • Heat ghee, add cumin seeds, curry leaves & red chilies, when it splutter reduce the heat and add in curd mixture
  • Increase the heat, keep stirring in between and cook till the mixture become thick
  • Peanut-almond kadhi is ready to serve
